The Road to Glencoe

If you are visiting Scotland and want to see some of the grandeur of the Highlands, Glencoe is a "must see". You will probably approach it along the A82 road which takes in some stunning scenery. Just before Glencoe, it is worth taking the little road on the left before you get to the main event, and explore Glen Etive. It is accessed via a tiny twisting single track road, but is one of my favourite glens in Scotland. I always stop off there after paying my respects to the Buachaille Etive Mor (the Great Shepherd), which is the distinctive conical mountain at the head of the glen.
